Most car maintenance advice is either terrifying, boring, or buried under a pile of jargon. We decided to change that.
How to Check Oil! started as a simple idea: What if someone finally explained basic car care like a regular person talks? No dealership pressure. No YouTube video skipping ahead too fast. Just clear, honest, step-by-step help.

We Make Car Maintenance So Simple, It’s Almost Stupid.

Most car advice websites are written by people who either:
A) Want to sell you something, or
B) Use the word “synthetic” six times before telling you where the dipstick lives.
We’re neither.
How to Check Oil! was born in a parking lot at 11 PM, when a friend called us panicking because their oil light was flashing and every mechanic’s voicemail was full. We walked them through it in under two minutes. They said: “Why has no one ever just said it like that?”
And that’s when we got mad. Not angry-mad. Mad that something so simple has been made to feel so scary.
